Toy Drive

We are proud to announce the third annual toy drive here at Osborn Hill partnering with local charity, Al’s Angels, to bring joy and happiness to children battling cancer, rare blood diseases & severe financial hardship in our area.

You can help us bring joy to these special children! We have an exciting opportunity at school for children and families to support this amazing cause. If your student would like to participate, please bring an unwrapped new toy for a child (under the age of 10) and drop the gift into one of the Al’s Angels Toy Drive Boxes at school before December 20th.

Together we can take a BIG step in helping so many in need!

Contact Dayna Sheehan at [email protected] with any questions. Click here for more information about Al’s Angels.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Our Annual OHS Thanksgiving food drive begins November 4th and runs until Friday, November 20th

Each year OHS families donate hundreds of non-perishable items to the Daughters of Charity in Bridgeport to help families and individuals in need of food for the holidays.

In the past we have collected well over 1,900 items a year!  This year, more than ever, this charity is in desperate need so we hope to collect just as many.  As a community we can make this holiday of giving special for those less fortunate.

And as a special incentive – the grade level (both hybrid & remote students by grade) with the most items collected will receive a virtual bedtime story read by a surprise OHS guest.

Items can be left in boxes at the outside entrance to each classroom from November 4th – November 20th.

Remote families have the option to drop in the boxes outside one of the classrooms for their grade OR please contact Patty Keenan [email protected].

In year’s past, the food drive has also included our fun run “Turkey Trot” on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving break.  More details to follow on how we hope to still incorporate this fun tradition in a special 2020 way!

2020 Virtual Book Fair!

Sadly, we’re unable to host an in person book fair this Fall. However, we want to offer an online book fair for our students and families to still be able to get some great books! Online shopping will be available via this shopping link  https://www.scholastic.com/bf/osbornhill  from Oct 9 -22. Our school will benefit from every online order!  Few things to note is that there is free shipping to your home for orders OVER $25, this is for BOOKS only. If you are to add a non book item to your order, the free shipping will be negated.  Also, tax will be collected on online orders, which is different from what we experience via in person shopping. Lastly, we ask that checks not be used as a payment option, as we have no way to handle that process at this time.
The money earned from this fair will translate into Scholastic Dollars which the PTA uses to purchase the Scholastic News for all the teachers, for the whole school year, including a special Math version for 5th grade. Please help to raise the funds to provide this important resource for our teachers! Further, please consider sending your teacher a gift certificate to purcahse classroom books as there will be no teacher book bins at the fair this year.
We hope this time of selecting books together as a family is meaningful to you and helps to provide something fun, while educational, at this time.
